Abubakar As-Saddique Islamic Center (AAIC) was founded and established in 1998. We started the project with the help of Allah Almighty and support from the Muslim community to help meet their religious and cultural needs in the Twin Cities. Search of the site and funds have been ongoing for six years before this site was purchased on July, 29 2006.

The center currently sits on 95000 square feet of land. About 37000 square feet of that space is still not used and utilized despite the huge need of the community for space to reduce the overcrowded classrooms and develop more opportunities for youth and families.

After the purchase of the building, the building renovation plan included three phases in which the first two phases (prayer hall and 2nd floor classrooms) were completed by the year of 2009. The last phase which includes a standard high school gym, additional classrooms, and office space is currently under the process of renovation to fully utilize all the building space.

AAIC located at the heart of the Twin Cities and not only serves as a place of worship for Muslims but also as a community center. Across AAIC is a bustling shopping center, Halal market, bazaar and restaurants that cater to a diverse groups of people. In addition, both downtown, uptown and the Minneapolis/St Paul International airport is less than 30-minute drive from the center. Also, you have access to nearby lakes, parks, and recreational centers.
