Abubakar As-Saddique Islamic Centers is an institution dedicated to lead and committed to serve. AAIC draws its strength and guidance from the Holy Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Our vision highlights our wish for everyone among mankind to worship our Lord Allah alone (Glory be to Him) according to the teachings of His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him).
Abubakar As-Saddique Islamic Center (AAIC) was founded in 1998. Our humble Scholars and vibrant community leaders started the AAIC project with the help of Allah (Almighty) and support from the Muslim community to help meet the religious and cultural needs in the Twin Cities Metro area. Collecting initial funds and search of the site lasted six years before the site was purchased on July 29, 2006.
The center currently sits on 95000 square feet of land. About 37000 square feet of the space is still not utilized despite the huge need of the community for such space, to reduce the overcrowded classrooms and develop more opportunities for youth and families.
After the purchase, the renovation plan that included three phases in which the first two phases (prayer hall and 2nd floor classrooms) were completed by the year of 2009. The last phase which includes a standard high school gym, K-12 school, additional classrooms, and office space is currently under process to fully utilize all the building space.
AAIC, located at the heart of the Twin Cities, not only serves as a place of worship for Muslims but also as a community center. Across AAIC is a bustling shopping center, Halal market, bazaar and restaurants that cater to a diverse group of people. AAIC is approximately 15-minute drive away from Downtown, Uptown and the Minneapolis/St Paul International airport. Furthermore, AAIC has access to the nearby lakes, parks, and recreational centers.
AAIC owes its success first and foremost to Allah and the tireless efforts of its members and volunteers. From the AAIC leaders and visionaries who left their day jobs to serve and guide the community, to the Moms who cooked homemade meals to fund the project, from the spiritual Imams who inspired us with their moving sermons and to the volunteers who walked miles on knocking doors and setting events to support the project.
AAIC thanks all the founders, leaders, community members and volunteers who have helped make this CENTER, a place to serve thousands of families each week.
